Puts Data, Research and Strategies at Fingertips
Detroit, Mich., March 8, 2016 – Business Leaders for Michigan today rolled out its new website featuring research and data about Michigan’s competitiveness, compelling information about BLM’s strategies and priorities, along with critical news and action items. The site can be accessed at www.BusinessLeadersforMichigan.com.
“We pride ourselves on developing strategies that are fact-based, grounded in Michigan’s ongoing economic realities and aimed at bringing new vitality and competitiveness to our state,” said Doug Rothwell, BLM President & CEO. “The new site offers a fresh look at where Michigan stands—and what people can do to help move our economy forward. Our goal was to provide better, easier access to the data behind these proposals and strategies, including detailed information about our latest plan to build a New Michigan.’”
Among the research and data featured on the new website is:
- The newly-released Building a New Michigan Plan, a roadmap to help Michigan become a “Top Ten” state for jobs, personal income and a healthy economy. It is the successor to BLM’s Michigan Turnaround Plan, which was designed to restart economic growth after the Great Recession.
- Michigan’s Performance Tracker for Economic Competitiveness, a measurement of the state’s performance on key metrics compared to other states and nations.
- Michigan’s Performance Tracker for Public Universities, an easy-to-use dashboard that uses 30 different metrics to measure university productivity and efficiency, affordability and access, and overall economic impact.
The website also features background information about BLM, its priorities for 2016, policy positions, staff member bios, links to partner & affiliate organizations, data about Michigan’s competitive position, information about upcoming events, and more.
