Today, the Business Leaders for Michigan Political Action Committee (BLM PAC) released its 2018 state legislative candidate alignment assessment and chart.
The BLM PAC evaluates candidates for the Michigan State Senate and State House of Representatives based on how their views align with the goals of our Plan for a Stronger Michigan and who will champion policies to make Michigan a “Top Ten” state for jobs, personal income and a healthy economy. Candidates are then rated as having strong, moderate, or weak alignment with the Plan.
In evaluating candidates, the BLM PAC considers responses to candidate questionnaires and voting records. While no candidate’s positions are 100 percent in agreement with BLM’s Plan, evaluations reflect those who came the closest to alignment with the organization’s priorities. BLM looks forward to working with all elected officials in helping Michigan become a Top Ten state.
