Acrisure

Background

Founded in 2005 as an insurance brokerage, Acrisure has rapidly evolved into one of the most dynamic and tech-forward firms in the industry. Embracing the principles of partnership and entrepreneurialism, the firm now powers its solutions with cutting-edge AI and technology to drive faster, smarter decision making—across a range of insurance, reinsurance, payroll, benefits, cybersecurity, real estate services – and beyond.

Building and sustaining a technology advantage

Acrisure has intentionally built a culture of innovation within the company, hiring a Chief Innovation Officer, building an Innovation team of hundreds of people, and making strategic acquisitions to enhance capabilities and reach. These investments formed the foundation for Acrisure’s proprietary technology platform, Auris, which is used across the company to drive revenue.

The company’s innovation-driven culture means that Auris adoption has grown from about 10% to over 70% in two years across its North America Retail division, fueled by extensive feature releases. Acrisure’s centralized “Auris Success Team” delivers and runs trainings, develops self-service and user self-guiding tools embedded within the software, and gathers direct user feedback to inform on-going improvements, helping to build and reinforce the platform. Usage is rapidly expanding, with sessions per month per user more than doubling in the last year and the number of features used by each user also increasing.

That commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology results in real business impact: sales professionals who have adopted Auris tend to have 2-3 times the growth rate of those who do not.

Growth and community investment

Acrisure’s spirit of innovation has created explosive growth–from 2013 to 2024, Acrisure grew in revenue from $38 million to $4.6 billion and on May 20, 2025 announced a $2.2 billion funding round led by Bain Capital. Acrisure’s unprecedented growth has driven the company’s valuation to $32B, marking a nearly 40% increase since its last institutional capital raise just three years ago. With 19,000 employees globally, making West Michigan its home strengthens the caliber of talent it can attract, with 1,800 employees across the state of Michigan and nearly 800 of them working from the company’s Home Office in downtown Grand Rapids.

As a major Grand Rapids employer, Acrisure is committed to investing for the benefit of its employees, community and the greater marketplace. Transformative projects like the Acrisure Amphitheater are visible displays of pride and purposeful intent for the region. Acrisure has also formed charitable partnerships with various children’s hospitals across the country (including Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids), pledging millions of dollars to support innovative programs and research dedicated to improving children’s health.
